Air travel. It gets me where I want to go, but the process can be, well messy, what with the packing and the lines and the sitting for extended periods of time. One way to make it more streamlined before you board: Clear Card [via bltd].
If you've got the card, you can get through airport security faster. (See the video on how Clear works.) You first head to an enrollment center where your fingerprint and iris image are imprinted onto the card (pretty sci-fi, right?) so you can be recognized en route. And on your next trip you get to cut in line just like the bullies did in grade school.
It may be a gift for a traveler in your life.
Clear can't be used everywhere, but it's in a number of major airports around the country so far. And it claims to cut your airport screening clear time down to mere minutes.
But if you remain cardless, there are still ways to speed things along (especially if we all do our part). The TSA (Transportation Security Administration) recommends a few basics:
*Pack an organized carry-on bag.
*Know the 3-1-1 rule on packing liquids ahead of time.
*Have your boarding pass and ID ready.
*Wear slip-on shoes for easy on/off at the checkpoint.
Feel free to let us know if you're a card holder or possess any other travel tips in your pocket.
