scrimping on printing

689777_43490487

With work life so digital, it's surprising how much we still rely on hard-copies. Since we're still printing aplenty, there are simple ways to cut down on the paper, the supplies and thus, the costs [via Lifehacker].

Taking a moment to "Print Preview" will avoid printing ten pages when you thought there were two or printing that last page that says merely, "The End."

Try printing just the selection that you need in your hands.

Change the print quality to be lower so that you use less ink.

Choose to save a document as an easily-emailed and scrolled through PDF file to avoid printing all together.

Download GreenPrint which will automatically help you eliminate unnecessary spaces or pages before the whir gets going. It also tracks how much you've saved.

One more: there's someone on a campaign to Change The Margins to save paper. By narrowing our margins, we use less paper. Simple. Here's how to change yours.
