Washing machines spend all their time churning soap and water, so they should always be clean, right? Not exactly. It turns out that soap scum can build up over time — if you’ve noticed a slight odor in your machine, that could be it. And front-loaders sometimes need the front rubber seal to be cleaned as well.
There are several ways to approach both and all are easy. Just watch this video from the Today show, and check out this post on Real Simple’s Home & Organizing blog, which has additional information for front-loaders. Your machine will be fresh as a daisy and your clothes will smell even cleaner after the next load.
