Midomi
Earlier we told you about Shazam, a marvelous app for your mobile phone that identifies songs on the radio by recording a sample of them — you just hold your phone up to the speaker for a few moments and Shazam reports back the song title and artist.

But what if you have a song stuck in your head that’s not playing on the radio? Simple: use midomi.com. You sing or hum as much of the song as you can remember into your computer’s microphone, then midomi reports back possible matches. There’s now a version for the iPhone too, midomi mobile, which will take you straight to the song on iTunes if you’d like to download it.

If you’re not feeling brave enough to sing in front of your coworkers (or into your phone at a bar) you can also type in lyrics to find a match.

Thus ends hundreds of years of "what was that song called?" headaches. Hooray!
