It’s mid-January – did you get a new calendar yet?  Well, look no further!  We’ve found a clever idea for a DIY calendar you can make with paper, glue and scissors: the dodecahedral calendar.  Cute and compact, the calendar features one month of the year on each of its 12 faces.  Follow the steps below for a geometric calendar of your own.

1. Download the calendar template here.  Make sure you print the template out on legal size paper–regular letter size paper may be too small.

2. Cut out the template, but only on the solid lines.  You will have what looks like two five-petal flowers attached in the middle.

3. Fold along each dotted line.

4. Apply glue to each folded tab and paste the tab underneath the “petal” next to it.

5. While pasting, you should start to see the dodecahedron taking shape.

6. After you glue down each tab, you will have created a 3-dimensional dodecahedron calendar!

I would love to try to make one of these. Unfortunately my arts and crafts skills are less than average. I would never forget my appointments if I had something like this though.

You can usually find plenty of headbands to wear on a daily basis, but it’s a special kind of headband that is worn for parties. The party headband is highly decorative, fun, and usually a conversation starter. Party hosts can get a headband for themselves to wear or pick up a bunch of them to hand out as party favors, then the guests can take a little of the party home with them.
