Another idea: when I was a kid, we would take butcher paper and stamp them with our favorite holiday designs, like stars or snowflakes, in red, green, gold, or silver ink.  It’s an especially fun project for kids on a rainy day and a great way to make personalized gift wrap.  You can try it with recycled paper, for beautiful and environmentally friendly designs.
