Ready, Set, Fold!

Whether you are setting the table for two or having a dinner party, interestingly folded napkins can be a retro-fun way to set the mood.  Below, is an easy kid-friendly napkin fold that makes a cute little pocket to hold silverware. When I was a kid, my mom would lure me into setting the table by asking me to do my "special" napkin folds. It may not work on your kids, but anything you can do to make a daily task more interesting is worth trying, at least once. You can do this fold with either paper or cloth napkins.

Napkin_holder

step 1: fold your napkin into a square
step 2: pull down one layer of the napkin to form a triangle
step 3: flip napkin over and fold one corner into center
step 4: fold the other corner into the center
step 5: flip napkin over
step 6: you will see a cute pocket that can hold one or more utensils

This was perfect timing! I had to entertain this evening and it's always fun to have good napkin folding tips--people think you spent more time on the table than usual when a napkin looks pretty! Thanks a lot for the suggestion!
